Have you reflected
On waking this morning
How the darkness disappears
And a new day begins
To take away troubles
And a chance to do good
Time with the Almighty
inspires one to action
Pray for others
Lend a helping hand
A smile for a stranger
And a whisper good day
Receiving from above
And giving to others
Will I not see the fruits
Of joy and peace
What is it to Persevere
Never give up and keep going
You never know
surprises keep coming
Improvisations galore
to handle the problem
Go through with courage
Or around it with aplomb
Strive thus to the end
With courage on the way
The prize to persevere
is to see new horizons
So on we go
No matter the hurdle

Choir practices and midnight mass
as the Christmas star
beckons .
To remember
the Christ child
Our Saviour who will come again .
Families together
Celebrating with delicacies
of roast turkey
and Christmas pudding
it’s glow warms our hearts when lit.
Children open their gifts
With eagerness
What did Santa bring ?
Is he real ?
There is a buzz in the air
greetings of neighbours resound
Stars are displayed
and so are the innovations of
the crib with the divine child
The reason of this season
Is Christ at the heart ;
we celebrate his birth
and second coming
Are you ready?
Lord you created me
For a span of life
Counted in years
With a beginning and end
You Oh Lord
Are the alpha and omega
You exist eternally with
No beginning and no end
Time is meaningless
When life on earth ends
What can I do
In this span of life
To live with deeds of kindness
Love that knows no end
To face you , my maker
With honour and praise
Winter beckons with snowflakes
blowing in the breeze
they cover the rooftops
with white coats
for winter wonders
Can you see the stars above
on a cold wintry night
then see the shining star
that leads to the babe
wrapped in swaddling clothes
Snowmen and snowball fights
children in woolly hats
the snow covered pine trees
and soft snowy roads
it’s Christmas very soon
Why look at a dim winter
when there are cosy nights
and shortened days
and Christmas lights
to cheer us on
Why do we have seasons
of sunny weather and white winters
Autumn of hope
And the birth of Spring
Can we overlook autumn
Cos it causes Fall
Wait a while
Before the fall of leaves
There is the riot of colour
Green to red and rust
who could imagine that
Uniform green could change
To such diverse colours
Life changes with years
Newness of life to mellowness of age
Is it all about the bold and beautiful
And what about wisdom of the wise
Discovery of talents
coffee chats and creativity
Time for tennis and golf with friends
To follow football and cricket
and critical comments thereafter
Cherish quiet times with loved ones
Specially with the Master of all

You O Lord Renew us

Each morn a reminder ,

Have you met the shepherd
Pray what does he do
when caring for sheep
With staff in hand
he guards and guides
At night or day
to green pastures
and fresh river waters .
He carries the sick
Binds their wounds
Looks for the stray
to return to the fold
By night to watch
the sheep in the pen
with staff to guard
from lurking danger
Pray , who is the Shepherd
who cares so well
not only sheep
but you and me
He is the Eternal One
who is the sheep gate
he guards my going out
and coming in
Have you listened
when He calls
Do you know his voice
You can trust in him
His love is eternal
Let us wake in the morning filled with your love
and sing and be happy all our days. (Psalm 90:14)
How soon the day passes
and how short our time
let me wake up each day
to experience your love Oh Lord.
So filled with love
I sing and rejoice

and all that is good
We are here today
and gone tomorrow
So why fret when you keep us
tranquil and quiet
